Is Christianity in the USA a sign of a country gone mad?

Unfortunately as an American who served his country in WWII and is sickened by its imperial actions in recent times I have to say, "yes," the nation has gone mad from the control SOME big mouth Christians now exercise over it. Hopefully Presadent Obama will bring us back to the reality of why this nation was founded.
