How can i apply Gandhi's "Satyagraha" philosophy to some contemporary issue?

Gandhi's Satyagraha movement (following truth without being violent)..how can i apply that to some modern issues or some contemporary problems? i just need few examples to expand on...Suppose, that Gandhi becomes president of US..how will he react to .............................?????? any ideas??!
